Lorena man dies in Mitchell County accident

A Lorena man died in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 208, north of Colorado City, Wednesday morning.
Michael Wayne Bearden, 56, was driving a Ford F-350 pickup truck when the vehicle entered the west bar ditch, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The vehicle continued to travel south for about 75 yards, the press release stated.
Bearden then tried to bring the truck back onto the roadway and entered a side skid, according to the press release.
The trailer Bearden was towing rolled onto its side and slid across both lanes and into the east bar ditch.
The pickup rolled multiple times across both lanes of traffic and into the east ditch.
Bearden, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trooper Nathan Sanford, with the Snyder DPS office, is investigating the accident.
