More than three inches of rain reported in county

More than three inches of rain was reported in Scurry County this morning as a cold front moved through the area.
The Farmers Co-Op Gin reported receiving 3.3 inches of rain and more was expected throughout the day.
Law enforcement responded to at least three vehicles off the roadway due to wet roads and an 18-wheeler flipped on its side in Borden County. The driver was not injured.
The Texas Department of Transportation placed “Water on Road” signs near Hermleigh on U.S. Hwy. 84 earlier today.
In Snyder, Winston Field reported only 0.28 of an inch overnight, but that did not include this morning’s totals.
Western Texas College received 1.17 inches of rain while the SnTx Industrial Park received 1.13 inches.
Scurry County was under a flood advisory until 11 a.m. today. The National Weather Service forecast includes scattered showers in Scurry County through Friday night.
A 40 percent chance of showers is in tonight’s forecast, as well as Friday afternoon. The chance for rain will drop to 30 percent Friday night and into Saturday.
Rain chances will increase to 40 percent Saturday night.
