• Arrests
Tony Lopez, 37, was arrested at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on Hwy. 350 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of dangerous drugs.
A 28-year-old male was arrested at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday at Allsup’s on U.S. Hwy. 180 in Snyder on warrants for bail jumping/failure to appear and driving while license invalid.
Two people were arrested at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Ave. Q. A 29-year-old male was arrested on warrants for parent contributing to non-attendance and failure to stop at a stop sign. A 24-year-old female was arrested for driving while license invalid.
A 30-year-old male was arrested for driving while license invalid at 12:30 a.m. today in the 300 block of East Coliseum Drive.
• Accidents
An 18-wheeler hit a sign near the U.S. Hwy. 180 overpass of U.S. Hwy. 84, according to a call at 6:28 a.m. Wednesday. The 18-wheeler left the scene of the accident.
At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1700 block of 24th Street.
An 18-wheeler was in a bar ditch on U.S. Hwy. 84, according to a call at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday.
• Fire
A Hermleigh resident called the law enforcement center at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday to report he would have a controlled burn behind Allsup’s in Hermleigh.
• Animal concerns
Two cows were reported loose at the intersection of CR 242 and FM 1269 at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday.
A person in the 3000 block of Ave. X reported seeing a dying raccoon in a yard at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday. The animal was removed from the yard before Snyder Animal Control arrived on the scene.
• Wednesday blotter notes
Scurry County EMS responded to three medical calls.
Four non-accident, traffic-related calls were received.
Three alarms were reported.
Two welfare checks were requested.
Two close patrols were requested.
Law enforcement responded to one civil issue.
