Patterson reports increase in average drilling rigs

Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc., reported an increase in its average drilling rigs operating in the U.S. during July.
For the month, the Houston-based company reported having an average of 56 rigs operating in the U.S. and two in Canada. Those figures are up from an average of 54 rigs operarting in the U.S. during June and one in Canada.
In July 2015, Patterson averaged 111 rigs operating in the U.S. and four in Canada.
Company officials said last month that they expected to see an increase in the number of average rigs operating in the U.S. and Canada.
Average drilling rigs operating represent the average number of drilling rigs that were operating under a drilling contract.
