Plans finalized for White Buffalo Days

The Snyder Chamber of Commerce’s White Buffalo Days celebration’s plans are finalized.
The celebration in downtown Snyder will begin at 5 p.m. today and continue from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Today’s scheduled activities include Lagniappe Production’s 15-minute Tumbleweed Crossing comedic gunfight at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Apparition Tradition, which plays 1950s and 1960s music, will perform in the Scurry County Courthouse gazebo at 7 p.m.
The Scurry County Museum will host an Oktoberfest fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at 1818 Arthouse. It will feature German-brewed beer tasting, art sales and a silent auction. The cost is $15 for one day and $20 for both days.
Saturday’s schedule will begin with the annual White Buffalo Stampede dash of color run at 8 a.m. and the 5K race at 9 a.m.
Ryan Grinnell, with CrossFit Snyder, will give a demonstration at 10 a.m.
College on the Square will host a children’s art contest from 10 a.m. to noon. Children may create their own Buff Stanley out of paper mache. The winner, who will receive a paining party for 10 with Nathalie Kelley, will be determined through a Facebook vote.
Four Tumbleweed Crossing skits will be performed — at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Stars-R-Us Gymnastics will perform at 11:30 a.m. at the courthouse gazebo while the Deep Creek Cloggers will dance at noon, followed by Baile de Folklorico.
At 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., the Science Spectrum of Lubbock will have Super Cold shows, featuring freezing and exploding liquid nitrogen, on the courthouse’s west parking lot.
The Sahawe Dancers will perform at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the north side of the courthouse.
Cindy Wright will perform in the gazebo at 2:30 p.m. and Apparition Tradition will perform at 5 p.m.
Justice, a traditional country band, will perform at 7 p.m. in the plaza.
Historic Scurry County, Inc., will host a historic jail preview fundraiser from 1-3 p.m. at the old jail building, located at 2705 College Ave. Snacks and children’s games will be provided
The White Buffalo Quilt Guild will host a show in the former West Texas State Bank.
