Texas, from fourth graders’ points of view, will be on display for the next few months at the Scurry County Museum.
A reception for the Scurry County Museum’s latest exhibit, created entirely by area fourth-graders, will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Executive Director Nicole DeGuzman said.
DeGuzman said the exhibit is the result of a recent classroom assignment.
“They were given the assignment to come with a miniature, hands-on exhibit for students four to 10 years old,” she said. “They were to represent Texas and its different regions and were judged on the completeness of assignment.”
Forty of the displays will be on exhibit at the museum’s main entrance and education hall through Dec. 13, DeGuzman said.
Oil, cotton and even dinosaurs are some of the items featured in the displays.
“I was really impressed with the thoughtfulness and creativity that the students showed in their displays,” DeGuzman said.
