Responsive Education Solutions and Snyder ISD have partnered to operate Snyder Junior High School starting this fall, but an item on Thursday’s school board agenda indicates that the district and ResponsiveEd have more extensive partnership plans in mind.

The board will discuss, but not vote on, a “Snyder ISD Premier High School partnership with ResponsiveEd.”

In addition to discussing the high school partnership idea, the board will meet in closed session to discuss allowing Superintendent Dr. Eddie Bland to negotiate the purchase of property at 3605 College Ave., formerly The Secret Garden greenhouse. Any action resulting from that discussion will be taken when the board reconvenes in open session.

Trustees will also vote on financial reports and accounts payable, approval of a contract for food service management with Southwest Food Service for the 2020-21 school year, tax deeds for trust property in the city of Snyder, Instructional Materials Allotment and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) certification, approval of summer Maintenance and Operations projects and a donation from the Snyder Football Booster Club.

They will also discuss, but not vote on, the district’s Summer Learning Platform and learning plans for the upcoming fall semester, discussion of bond refinancing options and a proposal from Spectra Solar, LLC, for solar energy.

Bland will present information on school enrollment on the last day of school in the 2019-20 school year compared to other points during the year

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, but instead of their normal venue at the district’s Administration Building, the meeting will take place at Snyder Intermediate School in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Lab.

It is open to the public.
