SACROC Unit flare

  • At about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, company officials said a flare at the Kinder Morgan SACROC Unit, near the intersection of FM 1611 and CR 226, expanded to many times its normal size, producing thick black smoke. The flare-up prompted evacuations of people living near the site. Smoke from the incident was visible in southern Snyder. The all clear was issued about 9:30 p.m.
