The Snyder High School Pride of the West marching band did not advance from the regional round of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) marching competition.
The band received a Division 2 score from the judges at Monday’s competition in Abilene.
Band Director Jeremiah McCurdy said the judges were complimentary of the band’s performance and said no one mistake was to blame for the rating.
“In the end, many individual mistakes added up to keep us from receiving the top rating,” McCurdy said. “This year’s music and marching were the most difficult and challenging that our students have ever attempted. We worked hard and learned a great deal for the future success of the program. I am very proud of how our students represented Snyder High School.”
