SHS Pride of the West prepares for new season

The Snyder High School Pride of the West Marching Band begins a new season Monday with its first summer rehearsal. 

Rehearsals will run through Aug. 24. 

Band members are encouraged to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, tennis shoes, clothing for hot weather, a hard work ethic and a great attitude.

Full band rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m.

New member orientation and training will be held from 9-11:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Percussion practice will be held Monday through Friday next week from 1:30-3 p.m.

Horn and woodwind practices will be held Wednesday through Friday next week. Flutes and clarinets will practice from 9- 9:50 a.m., saxophones and mellophones from 10-10:50 a.m., and trumpets, trombones, baritones and tubas from 1-111:50 a.m.

The band will perform during Meet the Tigers at Tiger Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

Uniforms will be issued to seniors and juniors Aug. 16 from 3-5 p.m. and to sophomores, freshmen and new marchers Aug. 17 from 3-6 p.m.
