Six indicted by grand jury this week

Six people were indicted by a Scurry County grand jury this week.

Rodney Lewis Arriola, 20, of Snyder, was indicted for escape, a third-degree felony. According to the indictment, Arriola attempted to escape the custody of Snyder police Lt. Brian Haggard on July 31 when the “defendant was under arrest for a parole warrant arising from the conviction for the felony offense of evading arrest” in Scurry County. Bond was set at $10,000.

Dakota Acoya Popham, 23, of Lago Vista, was indicted for third-degree felony assault of a public servant. The indictment stated that Popham, on June 9, pushed Snyder police Officer Robert Clark while he was responding to a suspicious person call. Bond was set at $5,000.

Andy Marroquin, 41, of Snyder, was indicted for injury to a child, a third-degree felony. On Aug. 5, Marroquin allegedly grabbed the neck of a child under the age of 14. Bond was set at $5,000.

Nathaniel Ray Reyna, 27, of Snyder, was indicted for assault, family violence, a third-degree felony. The indictment stated that on June 30, Reyna hit a member of the family in the face. Bond was set at $5,000.

The indictment also stated that Reyna was previously convicted of assault, family violence, in 2012, and burglary of a habitation in 2015. Both convictions were in the 132nd District Court, the indictment stated.

Pablo Benitez Jr., 23, of Snyder, was indicted for assault, family violence, a third-degree felony. On Feb. 25, Benitez allegedly hit a member of his family in the head. Bond was set at $5,000.

Eric Ryan Kelly-Cooper, 30, of Snyder, was indicted for the May 26 offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state-jail felony. Bond was set at $5,000.
