The Snyder ISD school board will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday to approve the district’s contract with Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd) for the operation of Snyder Junior High School.

The district approved a preliminary agreement with ResponsiveEd on Feb. 13, and has been negotiating details about how the partnership will operate.

The Lewisville-based charter school management company will manage Snyder Junior High School for the 2020-21 school year as part of a plan as an alternative to the Texas Education Agency closing the school or appointing a district-wide board of managers due to several years of low performance on standardized testing. The TEA-mandated deadline for the contract was originally the end of March, but was pushed back to the end of April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
