Snyder ISD schedules grade-level spelling bees

Snyder ISD third through eighth students will compete in grade-level spelling bees this month.
Students are studying the official list of 2016 words, which include the words “balderdash” and “hodgepodge.”
The top two finishers at each grade level will advance to the district event.
The district event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 26 at Worsham Auditorium.
The district winner will qualify for the regional competition in Lubbock.
At Snyder Intermediate School, the fourth grade spelling bee will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fifth grade event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Both bees will be held in the cafetorium.
Snyder Primary School’s third grade event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21 in the cafetorium.
Snyder Junior High School will hold its grade-level bees beginning at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 in the auditorium.
First and second grade students will compete in a practice event. First grade students will compete at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 while the second grade event will be at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 10. Both bees will be held in the cafetorium.
