A man accused of injuring a woman in a November knife attack was among six people indicted by a Scurry County grand jury this week.

Lionel Maurice Ray, 43, of Snyder, was indicted on the second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly attacking and wounding his victim on Nov. 17.

Aggravated assault normally carries a sentence of between two to 20 years in prison, but Ray’s indictment was enhanced by two previous felony convictions — in 2001, he was found guilty of aggravated assault on a peace officer in Fisher County, plus he was convicted in Colorado on a 2006 assault causing injury with a deadly weapon charge.

Bond for the November charge was set at $25,000.

Christian Castillano, 19, of Snyder, was indicted for sexual assault, a second-degree felony. He was arrested on June 27 and bond was set at $10,000

Miguel Angel Martinez, 26, of Snyder, was indicted for the Oct. 9 offense of driving while intoxicated, a third-degree felony.

Martinez was also convicted for driving while intoxicated in Scurry County in 2012 and 2016. Bond was set at $5,000.

Marvin Eugene Sheets, 32, of Snyder, was indicted for burglary of a building, a state-jail felony. He was arrested on Dec. 10 and bond was set at $5,000.

Eric Anthony Rodriguez, 36, of Houston, was indicted for delivery of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony. He was arrested on Oct. 3 2014 for delivering less than one gram of cocaine. Bond was set at $5,000.

Ashley Marie Elizondo, 21, of Snyder, was indicted for third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was found with more than one gram, but less than four grams, of methamphetamine on Oct. 6. Bond was set at $5,000.
