A Snyder man was indicted by a Scurry County grand jury for theft earlier this month.
Reyes Silva Gonzales, 36, was indicted for the 2012 theft of money eight different times of more than $50, but less than $500, a state-jail felony. He was arrested for stealing the money by deception from the Texas Workforce Commission, the indictment stated.
The indictment stated Gonzales attempted to steal money from the commission on Sept. 11, 2012, Sept. 25, 2012, Oct. 9, 2012, Oct. 23, 2012, Nov. 6, 2012, Nov. 20, 2012, Dec. 4, 2012 and Dec. 18, 2012.
The scheme led to Gonzales receiving more than $1,500, but less than $20,000 over the four-month period.
Bond was set at $5,000.
