Storm leaves county residents without power

Thunderstorms left a large part of Snyder without power Saturday night.
Officials with Oncor were not available for comment today, but according to Snyder residents as many as 400 households were without power Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
Big Country Electric Cooperative officials said customers in the Justiceburg and Garza County areas were without power for two and one-half hours Saturday.
Some Snyder areas were also without power, Big Country officials said.
Scurry County dispatchers received two calls concerning the storm. The first was at 7:49 p.m. Saturday when a person reported many of the street lights, traffic lights and house lights in the south part of Snyder being out.
A report of an electrical pole leaning over on Hwy. 208 near Dunn was reported at 7:09 p.m. Saturday.
Wind gusts as high as 32 miles per hour were reported at Winston Field during the storm. A watch stand blew over and into the roof of a building at the airport.
The storm did not bring significant rainfall to the area. The SnTx Industrial Park reported 0.45 of an inch while Western Texas College received 0.41 of an inch. Fluvanna and Gail each received 0.38 of an inch of rain. The Snyder Water Treatment plant received 0.42 of an inch.
