The Snyder High School Pride of the West marching band is gearing up for the 2018 marching season.
Earlier this week, the band hosted new member orientation and training, as well as percussion practice. Next week, individual sections will practice and the first full band rehearsal is scheduled.
On Monday and Tuesday, flutes and clarinets will practice at 9 a.m. followed by saxophones and mellophones at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., trumpets, trombones, baritones and tubas will practice and the percussion section will meet at 1:30 p.m. At 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, the full band will rehearse.
The first performance of the year will be Aug. 6 during Snyder ISD’s 8 a.m. convocation at Worsham Auditorium.
Full band rehearsals are scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 6-7, Aug. 9, Aug. 13-14, Aug. 16 and Aug. 20-21.
Uniforms will be issued Aug. 16-17. Seniors and juniors will be issued uniforms from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 16 while freshmen and sophomores will be issued uniforms from 3-6 p.m. Aug. 17.
