Three more incumbents file for May 2 local elections

Three more incumbents — for a total of six — have filed for a spot on the ballot in May elections.
Snyder City Council member for District 4 Thomas Strayhorn has filed to seek re-election to the seat, joining fellow city council incumbent, District 2’s Steve Rich, on the ballot. 
In the Snyder ISD school board race, District 4’s Carrie Richardson and District 5’s Doug Neff have also both filed to run for re-election.
The Snyder Daily News previously reported that Rich, as well as Western Texas College directors Drew Bullard and Mike McWilliams, filed to run for re-election earlier in the month.
The City of Snyder, Snyder ISD, Western Texas College and Cogdell Memorial Hospital will all have seats up for election May 2.
Ira ISD and Hermleigh ISD will wait until November for their elections.
Those interested in running for seats on any of these boards may file weekdays through Feb. 14 at the administrative headquarters for the entity in question.
The city’s council four single-member district seats are up for election. Snyder ISD has three places up for election. 
The Scurry County Junior College District (WTC) currently has two at-large positions up for election, while the Scurry County Hospital District (Cogdell) currently has three of its seats up for election.
