Registration for the Ritz Community Theatre’s Tuesday Troupe will be held on Tuesday.
Registration for the program, which is open to second through eighth grade students will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at the theater. Registration is also scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. Aug. 28.
The cost is $80 per month, per child, for the program.
The classes, which will be held from 4:15-5:15 p.m. every Tuesday beginning Sept. 4, are designed to teach children the basics of performing on the stage.
“We’re not focusing on a certain curriculum,” said Glenn Burns, a director for the theatre. “It’s more about just learning how to act and having a stage presence and just enjoying the theater arts.”
Burns said the classes came about because theatre officials wanted to get young people more involved with the dramatic arts in Snyder.
At the end of each semester, a play or showcase will be staged to highlight what the students have learned, Burns said.
