Twelve students to compete for district spelling bee title

Twelve students will compete on Wednesday for the Snyder ISD district spelling bee title.
Grade-level winners and runners-up will compete for the chance to advance to the 66th annual regional spelling bee in Lubbock beginning at 10 a.m. at Worsham Auditorium.
Representing Snyder Primary School will be John Gregory and Robert Arellano. Snyder Intermediate School’s representatives are Addison Ulm, Danielle Baiza, Xavier Sigarillo and Walker Wilson. 
Snyder Junior High School will be represented by Heaven Miles, Logan Free, Caira Galvan, Zachary Meador, Desire Malmsten and Hailey Jent.
The district spelling bee will be judged by Lisa Roemisch, Rebecca Mebane and Elaine Bragg. The pronouncer will be Mindi Bredemeyer.
The regional spelling bee will be held March 4 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The winner will advance to the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. later this year.
