Two people are headed to prison after entering guilty pleas in District Judge Ernie B. Armstrong’s courtroom this week and a third had his probation revoked and will serve his original sentence.
A Snyder woman was given a seven-year sentence and her probation was revoked on two previous convictions after she entered a guilty plea.
Melissa Hope Cunningham, 39, was given the sentence after she pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony charge of burglary of a habitation.
In addition to her sentence, Cunningham was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $4,041 in restitution and $909 in court and attorney fees.
The charge stemmed from a Sept. 6 incident during which she entered a habitation and tried to steal jewelry from her victim.
The burglary conviction led to probation from two earlier convictions to be revoked. The seven-year sentence on the burglary charge will be served after she completes a pair of concurrent two-year sentences dating back to 201e.
In the first case, Cunningham was given a two-year sentence, probated five years, after entering a guilty plea to a state-jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
On Aug. 23, 2013, Cunningham was found in possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine.
On Aug. 7, 2015, she was convicted on a state-jail felony charge of burglary of a building after attempting to steal a mattress from her victim on July 17, 2014.
On that charge she was given a two-year sentence, probated five years.
Abrium Jace Huddleston, 19, was given a pair of 10-year sentences, to be served concurrently, after entering guilty pleas to arson and burglary of a habitation.
On the arson charge, which is a second-degree felony, Huddleston was also ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $17,731 in restitution and $909 in court and attorney fees.
On Aug. 7, Huddleston ignited gasoline, causing a fire or explosion, with the intent to damage his victim’s vehicle.
He was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $909 in court and attorney fees after pleading guilty to a second-degree felony burglary of a habitation.
Also on Aug. 7, Huddleston entered a habitation and attempted to steal a television from his victim.
Christopher Noah Drazner, 23, had his probation on a 2015 conviction for possession of a controlled substance revoked after he violated terms of his probation.
He was given a 10-year probated sentence in April 2015 after a July 2014 incident in which he was found in possession of more than one gram, but less than four grams, of methamphetamine.
His probation was revoked after he was found in possession of methamphetamine on Oct. 28, 2015.
He also failed to report to his probation officer or make his monthly probation, fine, restitution and other payments between May 2015 and January 2016; failed to complete community service; missed a probation performance review in July 2015; and did not complete a drug-offender education course.
