Two Snyder residents indicted by grand jury

A grand jury handed down two indictments this week against Snyder residents.
Augustine Berrera Ramos, 47, was indicted for assault of a public servant, a third degree felony. Ramos was arrested on Sept. 30 for assaulting Snyder police Officer Maeson Rojas, who was attempting to place Ramos in custody, court documents stated. Bond was set at $5,000.
Mecca Royce Weatherby, 45, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony. The indictment stated Weatherby was arrested on July 18 for possessing less than one gram of cocaine. His bond was set at $5,000.
The District Clerk’s office also released two indictments of a homeless man following his arrest this week. 
William Lee Kenly, 31, was indicted in August 2016 for state jail felony theft, a March 5, 2016 offense, and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, a state jail felony offense that was reported on March 1, 2016.
On the theft charge, the indictment stated Kenly stole two trailers and a riding lawnmower from his victim. Bond was set at $5,000.
On the sex offender registration count, Kenly did not contact law enforcement within seven days of beginning his residence in Scurry County, the indictment stated. 
He was previously convicted of the failure to register as a sex offender in Mitchell County in 2016, the indictment stated. Bond was set at $5,000.
