Water board holds emergency meeting for storm damage

Scurry County commissioners, acting as the Hermleigh Water Works board, called an emergency meeting Wednesday and approved spending up to $1,500 to hire temporary, part-time labor to help repair damage to the Hermleigh Water Works system. According to Scurry County Judge Dan Hicks, the water system developed multiple leaks during last week’s winter storm.
