Ricki Webb has announced her candidacy for re-election as the Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace.

Webb, who has filed her campaign treasurer’s report with the County Clerk’s office, is running in the March 6 primary.

In announcing her candidacy, Webb said, “I am a native of Hermleigh, a Republican, and a seasoned Justice of the Peace of Scurry County. I am formally announcing my candidacy for re-election for Scurry County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2.

“I was born and raised in this area and know it like the back of my hand — from the land to the people. I began working in the Precinct 2 office as clerk, then earned the position of Deputy Chief Clerk, and was finally elected as Justice of the Peace. This experience allows me to confidently say that I know and understand every part of caring for a precinct, and in turn, a county and its citizens.

“In serving Scurry County in this capacity, I have learned to be fair, objective and compassionate in difficult situations — from loss of a loved one to violations of the law and anything in between. I have attended the training necessary to keep me in alignment with the Legislature to make the right decisions on behalf of the citizens of this county.

“It is my honor, privilege to have served the people of Scurry County and I would like the opportunity to continue that service in the future.”
