Have you ever tossed a teddy bear? If not, your opportunity is just around the corner.
Westerner Basketball is teaming up with the Scurry County United Way to host a Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 4 at The Coliseum, when the Westerners tip off against New Mexico Junior College at 7:30 p.m.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal for a child in need. After the game, fans will toss the plush toys onto the court to be distributed to local United Way-member agencies that work with children.
“Agencies of Scurry County United Way that assist children will benefit from the teddy bears that are donated at the game,” Scurry County United Way executive director Sheila Hale said.
