WTC theatre students to present The Front Page

  • Western Texas College theatre students will present The Front Page Thursday through Saturday at the Fine Arts Theatre. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The first Western Texas College production in the renovated Fine Arts Theatre will take the stage on Thursday.
Theatre department students will present The Front Page by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $5 each. WTC students and faculty will be admitted free.
The Front Page is the story of a managing editor of a Chicago newspaper fighting to keep his star reporter on the story of a condemned anarchist’s jailbreak, when the reporter is ready to quit and get married.
The Front Page was also a feature film, titled His Girl Friday, that starred Cary Grant an Rosalind Russell.
Members of the cast are Ariel Bondoc, Bret Bondoc, Catherine Bullivant, Caitlyn Cornutt, Cruz DeLuna, Keelie DeVille, Mallory Grimsby, Joseph Long, Troy McKinney, Ashlee Nicole Rub, Tanner Rutledge, Bert Salas, Sierra Rain Salazar, Taylor Sealy, Austin Smith, Jasmine Turner and Luz Valdez.
Ray Newton is directing the play. Teresa Newton designed the costumes and Ariel Bondoc is in charge of the sound. Valdez and Ariel Bondoc are in charge of lighting.
