Garlan Dale Williams

1935-2020

Mr. Garlan Dale Williams, 84 of Snyder died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at his home.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Mr. Mark Williamson and Mr. Darrell Chappell officiating. No visitation is planned. Arrangements were under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams was born December 8, 1935, in Wingate to Lonnie Washington and Hester (Waters) Williams. He married Mary Frances Fisher on Feb. 18, 1956, in Ballinger. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2019. Garlan was a member of 37th Street Church of Christ as well as a member of the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department. He owned and operated A-1 Air Conditioning for 50 years. Garlan and his wife were also members of the Snyder RV Club and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two daughters, Cynthia Williams and Beverly Griffith; a grandson, Tyler Williams; a brother, Herschel Williams; and a sister, Johnnie Maxcine Harber.

Survivors include a son, Sterling Williams and wife, Cissi, of Snyder; two daughters, Teresa Brown of Carrollton and Delia Baker of Arlington; seven granddaughters, Twylla Chavez of Tulsa, Okla., Tiffany Brown of Snyder, Janiece Baker of Snyder, Shawnee Williams of Snyder, Bridget Maxwell of Longview, Belinda Compton of Odessa and Janna Lane of Oak Grove, La; two grandsons, Brady Williams of Snyder and Nick Griffith of Odessa; 14 great-grandchildren including great-grandsons Korbyn and Kayden Chavez, Alec Compton, Donavaughn and Tristian Wigginton and Dakota and Kayden Lane and great-granddaughters Hanna Beck, Makayla Chavez, Tori Wigginton, Madison Lane, Chevy and Charleigh Griffith and Bella Stricklett; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lucille and Dennis Rohmfeld; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Jerry and Eloise Gunsett.
