John O’Banion Jr.

1925-2018

Dr. John William O’Banion Jr., 92, of Snyder, died Friday, April 13, 2018 in Snyder.

Funeral service for Dr. O’Banion will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 

Anna Reed

1932-2018

Anna Marie Reed, 85, of Lake J.B. Thomas, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Lake J.B. Thomas.

Graveside service for Mrs. Reed will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Gail Cemetery with Bill Dixon officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anna  was born on Dec. 11, 1932 in Dallas. She was the youngest of nine children born to Charles Henry and Priska Agnes (Ehrlich) Faulhaber. The brother closest in age to Anna was 12 years her senior. She grew up in a family of adults during World War II.

Anna married Billy Bruce Dixon in May 1951 in Dallas. Immediately after their marriage, Billy was inducted into the Army due to the Korean Conflict. Anna and Billy had four children, Renny Jean, born on Aug. 29, 1954, Teri Ann, born on Oct. 3, 1955, both in Dallas, Billy Bruce II, born on Feb. 4, 1958, and Clay Aaron, born on July 2, 1959, both in Santa Monica, Calif. This marriage ended in divorce in December 1961. She then moved back to Dallas and lived with her parents and worked at Biggs Air Force Base until the base closed. She then went to work at Fort Bliss until a job at Reese Air Force Base became available. She then moved to Lubbock and again taught school at the Air Force base.

Anna married Bobby Joe Reed on  July 5, 1968 in Lubbock. She and the four children then moved to his home in Shallowwater. He owned Reed Implement Company of Shallowater. They had been married 50 years. She worked at Reese Air Force Base until Texas Instruments moved to Lubbock in 1973. She retired from Texas Instruments with 20 years of service. Bob Reed retired and sold his business at the same time. They resided at Lake J.B. Thomas.

Anna was secretary/treasurer for the Lubbock SOH Lodge for eight years, secretary/treasurer for the Hermleigh Sons of Hermann Lodge for 10 years, junior vice president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 2466 in Lubbock for one year and president of Military Order of Cooties Auxiliary Post No. 2466 for one year. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Reed of Lake J.B. Thomas; two daughters, Renny White and her husband, Stacey, and Teri Blount-Shepherd and her husband, John, all of Lubbock; two sons, Billy Bruce Dixon III and his wife, Linda, of Wichita Falls and Clay Dixon and his wife, Laci, of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Faulhaber of Dallas.

Pete Rios

1947-2018

Pete Rios, 70, died Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Funeral mass for Mr. Rios will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born on Sept. 3, 1947 in Taylor to Delores and Frances (Villa) Rios, he married Celia Tovar on Jan. 5, 1973 in Snyder. They were married for 45 years and had two sons and one daughter. He was an oilfield operator and a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 8231. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Snyder. 

He enjoyed golf, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eva Ybarra.

Survivors include his wife, Celia Rios; two sons, Jason Rios and Gabriel Rios; one daughter, Valerie Drum and her husband, Delton Drum II; three brothers, Alex Rios of Houston, Robert Rios of Snyder and David Rios of Denver, Colo.; four sisters, Frances Braziel and her husband, Larry Braziel, and Mary Garza, all of Snyder, and Elizabeth Rangel and Dolores Rios Guerrero, both of Seagraves; and nine grandchildren, Christian and Noah Drum, Zaiden, Keagen, Mishaylla, Lydia, Tyler, and Merrita Rios and Kyanna Salinas.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

1928-2018

Jo Stephens, 89, of Snyder, died Sunday, April 15, 2018.
