Maria DeLeon
1919-2019
Maria DeLeon, 99, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mary Langford
1932-2019
Mary Moore Langford, 86, passed away in Lubbock on Friday, April 12, 2019. She passed away from congestive heart failure.
A private service, under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home, will be held at a later date.
Born on Oct. 13, 1932 in Camp Springs to David Logan and Esther Mildred (Hardt) Moore, she married Robert Wayne Langford, her sweetheart since childhood, on Aug. 26, 1950 in Sweetwater.
As an entomologist, Mary had a private business working with local farmers to eradicate boll weevils. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a charitable contributor to the Mayo Clinic and worked with the Scurry County Fair. She would dress up as a clown and visit the Snyder elementary schools for Halloween. She would also dress as a witch and held a haunted house in her home. 
She ran the Republican voting registrar, was a baker at the Snyder High School cafeteria, was a volunteer Pink Lady at Cogdell Memorial Hospital and was a volunteer with the American Heart Association. She worked in housekeeping at Cogdell Memorial Hospital, volunteered at the Ritz Theatre, managed the Yogurt Shop and worked as a night manager at the Von Roeder Gin. She farmed and ranched with her husband and also was a published author. She was also the reigning domino champion of Scurry County. Her lineage can be traced back to 700 AD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Logan and Esther Mildred Moore; her in-laws, John Henry and Roberta West Langford; one sister, Mozelle Epperson; and one brother, D.L. Moore Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Langford of Snyder; two daughters, Belinda Langford Dollins of Snyder and Barbara Langford Arnett of Fluvanna; four grandchildren, Kevin Dollins of Kilgore, Kerry Dollins of Snyder, Jack Sherrod and his wife, Summer, of Houston and Jamie Justiss of Fluvanna; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that friends and family provide a meal and companionship with Robert at his home.

Maria Patterson
1943-2019
Maria Josefa (Perez) Patterson, 75, of Snyder, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Lubbock. 
Funeral service for Mrs. Patterson will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Maria was born on Sept. 14, 1943 in Alice to Manuel and Melida (Morina) Perez Jr. She married Robert Patterson on July 2, 1967 in San Diego. Maria graduated from the University of Texas pharmacy school in 1967 as valedictorian. She and Robert lived in Houston for four years before moving to Snyder in 1972 and joining Roberts father’s pharmacy at Snyder Drug. They ran the pharmacy until 1999 and then continued to work at United Pharmacy until 2009. After retiring, they were able to travel extensively and see the world. Robert and Maria were married for 53 wonderful years. 
Maria was a very active member of  First United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Manuel Perez III and Hector Luis Perez.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Patterson of Snyder; one son, Robert Kee Patterson and his wife, Katherine, of College Station; one daughter, Amy Drake and her husband, Mark, of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Devin Crenshaw of Philadelphia, Pa. and Terra Drake of Lubbock; and two sisters, Rosa Saenz of Alice and Estella Conley of Katy.

Vetta Underwood
1937-2019
Vetta Underwood, 81, of Snyder, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019.
Funeral service for Mrs. Underwood will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Donnie Burk and the Rev. Larry Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Vetta was born on Aug. 15, 1937 in Bronte to Raymond Ray and Beatrice Rose Phillips. She was raised in Blackwell. She married Hazel Underwood on Nov. 12, 1955 in Sweetwater, but they eventually became longtime residents of Snyder and were members of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Carl Ray Underwood.
Survivors include one son, Jim Underwood of Abilene; one daughter, Deana Flavel and her husband, Ron, of San Angelo; one granddaughter, Myranda Moody and her husband, Chris, of Early; four grandsons, Camron Flavel, Colin Flavel and Colton Flavel, all of San Angelo, and Charles Underwood of Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Luke Moody, Kelli Belle Moody and Brooklyn Moody, all of Early; three sisters, Kay Martin of Graham, Billie Jo Huffman of Willis and Esther Coronado and her husband, Mario, of Brownwood; one brother, Bobby Phillips and his wife, Sharon, of Nacogdoches; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
