Sandra Guynes

1946-2020

Sandra Guynes, 73, of Snyder died April 25, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Services are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Guynes was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Levelland to Joe and Helen (Anderson) Price. She married Donnie Guynes on Nov. 19, 1964, in Monahans. She was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church, and she loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother-in-law, Roy Cantu.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Joe Don Guynes and wife, Redonna, of Snyder; a grandson, Jadon Guynes and wife, Niki, of Snyder; a granddaughter, Kinsey Keith and husband, Justin, of New Deal; two great-grandchildren, Ivy and Cooper Guynes of Snyder; two sisters, Diana Williamson and husband, Ronnie, of Snyder and Ellen Cantu of Snyder; two brothers, Larry Price and wife, Terri, of Lubbock; and Joe Dale Price and wife, Kay, of Gardendale; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Wendell Thomas

1928-2020

Mr. Wendell Scott Thomas, 92, of Abilene, formerly of Snyder, died Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Wesley Court in Abilene.

Services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jeff Reid officiating. No visitation is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr.Thomas was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Loraine to Floyd and Bertha (Richards) Thomas. He married Corene Karnes on Oct. 1, 1950, in Enid, Okla. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1999. He later married Peggy Callicoatte on Feb. 18, 2006, in Abilene. Mr. Thomas was a postmaster for the United States Postal Service for 39 years and a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Corene Thomas; one daughter, Deborah Aline McKinney; four brothers, Reid, Wallace Hilton, Richard and Stanley Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Thomas of Abilene; a daughter, Karen Ward of Denton; two stepchildren, Guy Callicoatte and wife, Sue, of Abilene and Jill Willis and husband, Tommy, of Abilene; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
