Lupe Lopez
1945-2019
Guadalupe O. “Lupe” Lopez, 74, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 in Snyder.
Funeral mass for Mr. Lopez was held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Arsenio C. Redulla officiating. Burial followed at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Lopez was born on July 11, 1945 in Uvalde to Jesus and Elvera (Olivarez) Lopez. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, a pitcher for the Red Legs and was a home run hitter. He was also a eucharistic minister and a CCE teacher for several years. He loved spending time with his family, golfing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Elvera (Olivarez) Lopez, and three sisters, Victoria Hernandez, Nora Casas and Aurora Hernandez.
Survivors include his wife, Hope Lopez of Snyder; three daughters, Vickie Hernandez of Arlington, Vera Arredondo and her husband, Dean, and Lori Benitez and her husband, Josh, all of Snyder; six grandchildren, Corie Garcia and her husband, Luis, of Fort Worth, Ryan Arredondo, Gabby Arredondo and Kyle Shrum, all of Snyder, Ashlei Lopez of Kilgore and Toby Lopez of Lubbock; five great-grandchildren, Ian Arredondo, Khloe Arredondo and Xzavier Arredondo, all of Snyder, and Oliver Lopez and Everett Lopez, both of Kilgore; one brother, Joe Lopez and his wife, Elena, of Joshua; and one sister, Juanita Chaidez of Snyder.

Ramon Yanez
1954-2019
Ramon Yanez, 65, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Funeral mass for Mr. Yanez will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on March 8, 1954 in El Refugio, Ciudad Fernandez, Mexico to Ramon and Altagracia (Aguilar) Yanez, he always had a smile on his face and would always try to make you smile or laugh. He was a truck driver for Smith Vacuum Truck Service, working with them for more than five years. He loved spending time with his family, gardening and watching baseball, basketball and boxing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Yanez Sanchez, his mother, Altagracia Aguilar Rodrigues, and three brothers, Alberto Yanez, Otilio Yanez and Rosalio Yanez.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Borrego and her husband, Edgar, of Snyder; one son, David Yanez and his wife, Carolynn, of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, Giselle Borrego, Zailynn Borrego, Samantha Yanez and Zachary Yanez, all of Snyder, Marcus Flores of Abilene and Kiersten Yanez, Isaac Flores and Annalisa Yanez, all of San Angelo; four sisters, Esperanza Yanez Aguilar and Francisca Yanez Aguilar, both of El Refugio, Mexico, Margarita Yanez Aguilar of Dallas and Maria Del Refugio Yanez Aguilar of Bernice, La.; three brothers, Victor Yanez Aguilar of San Antonio, Diego Yanez Aguilar of Tampico, Mexico and Reynaldo Yanez Aguilar of El Refugio, Mexico.
