Jose Lara

1962-2020

Mr. Jose Lara, 58, of Snyder died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at his home in Snyder.

A memorial service for Mr. Jose Lara will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Nicky Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Lara was born on July 2, 1962, in Big Spring to Mr. Lara and Eva Morales. He married Virginia Sosa on Oct. 27, 1980, in Snyder. Jose was a painter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Juanita Vega; and his brother, Fernando Arriega.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lara of Snyder; three daughters, Valerie Lara-Schmidt of San Angelo, Jennifer Lara of San Angelo and Vanessa Treat of Tye; his son, Jose Lara Jr. of Coopers Cove; two sisters, Leonara Gutierrez and Linda Lara; two brothers, Raymond Arriega and Adam Morales Jr.; and six grandchildren.

Othell Louetta Trevey

1922-2020

Mrs. Othell Louetta Trevey, 98, of Arlington, formerly of Snyder, died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at Matlock Nursing Home in Arlington.

A graveside service for Mrs. Trevey will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Pastor Reid Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs.Trevey was born April 11, 1922, in Snyder to Elzie and Laura Helen (Parks) Rollins. She married R. J. "Buddy" Trevey in November of 1938 in Snyder. He preceded her in death. Othell was a housewife and a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include her son, Robby Trevey of Arlington; her brother, Joe Rollins of Snyder; and two grandchildren.

Julie Anna Choate

1970-2020

Julie Anna Choate, 50, of Hudson Oaks died due to a pulmonary embolism on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Birchman Ave., Fort Worth. The service will also be viewed live at ccbcfamily.org.

Julie was born July 2, 1970, in Fort Worth to Don and Brenda Newbury. She attended Snyder schools before graduating from Brownwood High School in 1988 as salutatorian. Julie received her baccalaureate degree from Howard Payne University in 1992 and masters degree from Dallas Baptist University in 2000.

Julie married her husband, Bryan, on June 11, 1994, and they recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. She was an amazing mother to her children, Benjamin and Brittin. She loved and followed Jesus, worshipping with her family at Trinity Bible Church in Aledo.

Julie served as an assistant elementary school principal in Crowley ISD before joining Aledo ISD 19 years ago, first as an assistant principal and then principal. Her last 12 years were spent at McCall Elementary School, where she was entering her fourth year as principal. She was an educator for more than 29 years.

Julie is survived by her husband Bryan, son Benjamin and daughter Brittin, all of Hudson Oaks; her parents, Dr. Don and Brenda Newbury of Burleson; her sisters Jana Penney and her husband, Kyle, and their children Juliana and Kedren, of Tyler, Jeanie McDaniel and her husband, Ryan, and their children Jonah and Addison, of Burleson; and her mother-in-law, Myrna Choate, Hudson Oaks.

Clint McCowen, 86, of Snyder diied Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020.
