Clint McCowen

1934-2020

Clint McCowen, 86, of Snyder died Thursday, August 20, 2020.

Graveside services for Mr. McCowen were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Snyder Cemetery with Steve Highfield and Larry McCaden officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Schearod Clint McCowen was born on May 1, 1934, to S.E. and Edna McCowen. One of 10 children, he grew up in West Texas raising cattle and cotton. He married Francis Blair McCowen when she was 16 and he was 18, just before Christmas on Dec. 23, 1956. They were married for 66 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and raised three children who survive him: Clinta, Shawn, and Neika.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife; his brother, Don McCowen and wife, Linda, of San Angelo. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Neika and Joel Smith and their children, Jadon and Jasmine Smith, of San Angelo; Clinta and Darrel Lester and their son, Jordan, of Midland and their daughter and son-in-law Jeremee and Adam Duncan of Dalhart; and Shawn and Carol McCowen of Snyder and their daughters, Raven, Emily and Blair, of Lubbock. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Logan and Beretta Duncan of Dalhart.

Matthew Wayne Tinkler

1983-2020

Mr. Matthew Wayne Tinkler, 37, of Hermleigh died Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, in Snyder.

A memorial service for Mr. Tinkler will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Highfield officiating. A memorial service will also be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Methodist Family Center in Robert Lee with Cyndi Weidner officiating. No visitation is planned.

Mr.Tinkler was born Jan. 8, 1983, in San Angelo to Clark and Kim (Lomas) Tinkler. Matthew worked as a diesel mechanic for PSI for the last three years. He loved to fish and cook and had many friends. He loved his family and will be truly missed.

Survivors include his father and mother; his daughter Ryleigh Tinkler of Snyder; two sons, Carson Tinkler of Odessa and Calvin Tinkler of Snyder; his stepson, Remington Sterling of Snyder; his brother, Cameron Hodge of Snyder; his ex-wife, Haily Grimmett of Snyder; and his girlfriend, Jamie Hatley of Snyder.
