Andrew Sosa Jr.

1978-2022

Andrew Sosa, Jr., 44, of Sweetwater passed away in an automobile accident on December 6 in Coleman County.

Andrew was born on June 2, 1978 in Colorado City to Andrew Sosa, Sr. and Gloria (Sanchez) Sosa. He married Lou Ann Zamora on September 5, 1994 in Snyder. He worked as a chef for many years.  He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Zamora of Sweetwater; daughter, Madison Sosa of Sweetwater; parents, Andrew Sosa, Sr. and wife Donna of Snyder and Gloria Sosa of Sweetwater; sisters, Delores Rodriguez and husband Jacob of Snyder; Julie Ortiz and husband Johnny of Arlington and Adrianna Sosa of Snyder; brother, Adrian Sosa and wife Chelsea of Midland; grandmother, Modesta Sanchez of Hermleigh; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A prayer service was held at 6:30 p.m. on December 9 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel, and was followed with a rosary at 7 p.m., recited by Deacon David Mendez.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. December 10 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating.  Burial followed at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Tent Funeral Home.

 

Michael Depue Landrum

1953-2022

Michael Depue Landrum, 69, passed away on November 20 in Round Rock.

Michael was born February 12, 1953 in Snyder to Pauline and Henry Landrum. He married Carolyn S. Aaron on May 4, 1974 at the Avenue D Baptist Church in Snyder.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Michael Landrum served his Country for over 20 years in the United States Army, with tours of duty ranging from Frankfurt, Germany to Balboa, Panama. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 bronze oak leaf clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (four bronze leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (one bronze leaf cluster), National Defense Medal (one bronze service star), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (third award). After retiring and moving back home to Texas, Mike enjoyed traveling with his wife visiting family, and tinkering in his garage on his next project.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years. He is survived by his two sons, Jason of Austin and Daniel and wife Nhu Nguyen of Austin.

Graveside services for Michael D. Landrum will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery Interment Gazebo.

Nathan “Benny” Benitez, 103, of Snyder passed away on Thursday, December 8.
