Michael Depue Landrum

1953-2022

Michael Depue Landrum, 69, passed away on November 20 in Round Rock.

Michael was born February 12, 1953, in Snyder to Pauline and Henry Landrum. He married Carolyn S. Aaron on May 4, 1974, at the Avenue D Baptist Church in Snyder.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Michael Landrum served his Country for over 20 years in the United States Army, with tours of duty ranging from Frankfurt, Germany to Balboa, Panama. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 bronze oak leaf clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (four bronze leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (one bronze leaf cluster), National Defense Medal (one bronze service star), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (third award). After retiring and moving back home to Texas, Mike enjoyed traveling with his wife visiting family and tinkering in his garage on his next project.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years.

He is survived by his two sons, Jason of Austin and Daniel and wife Nhu Nguyen of Austin.

Graveside services for Michael D. Landrum will be held at 1 p.m. on December 12, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery Interment Gazebo.

Dorma Jean Elam

1946-2022

Dorma Jean Elam, 76, of Ira passed away on November 29 at Goodlife Senior Living Center in Snyder.

Mrs. Elam was born on August 17, 1946 in Snyder to Thomas and Gladys (Leatherwood) Bennett. She married Merle “Butch” Elam on June 12, 1963 in Snyder. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. She was a member of the Ira Church of God. She was a janitor for 39 years at Ira ISD. She loved all her school kids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tommie Rightmire; and brother, Frank Bennett.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Carolynn Botts and husband Billy of Ira; sons, Jimmy Elam and wife Lynda of Ira and Charles Elam and wife Kim of Ira; sister, Joyce Ortega of Amarillo; brothers, Billy Bennett of Ira and Larry Bennett.

No services are planned for Mrs. Elam at this time. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
