Betty Copeland

1928-2018

Betty Jo Copeland, 89, of Snyder, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 in Snyder.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

 

Ladell Gannaway

1935-2018

Ladell Gannaway, 82, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 in Lubbock.

Funeral service for Mrs. Gannaway will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery. under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Born on Oct. 12, 1935 in Malta to Lloyd and Rena (Terral) McCright, she married Homer Gannaway on Jan. 16, 1959 in Snyder.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jay Gannaway, one brother, Terry McCright, and one grandson, Randy Stratton.

Survivors include two daughters, Treasa Gaddis and her husband, Robert, of Hermleigh and Belinda Freeburg and her husband, Russ, of Beebe, Ark.; one son, Jeffrey Gannaway and his wife, Beverly, of Andrews; one sister, Janell Bearden of Snyder; five grandchildren, Tisha Rodgers of Hermleigh, Misty Murph of Fort Eustis, Va., Tim Gannaway of Andrews, Derek Gannaway of Neptune City, N.J. and Robert Ritch Jr. of Midland; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary McDonald

1932-2018

Mary Jo McDonald, 85, of Midland, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Senior Care Center in Midland.

Graveside service for Mrs. McDonald will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fluvanna Cemetery with Darrell Chappell officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. McDonald was born on May 4, 1932 in Wheeler County and was reared in Fluvanna. She was the daughter of the late T.M. and Lenora Mae Hughes. She married Johnny McDonald on Oct. 24, 1953 in Hobbs, N.M. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2008.  She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Joni Spinks and her husband, Danny, and Jani Adams and her husband, Steve, all of Midland; four grandchildren, Matt Spinks of Loveland, Colo., Jennifer Coleman of San Angelo and Griffin Hays and Stephanie Dunaway, both of Midland; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Thompson and Janice Collier, both of Snyder.

Mary Proctor

1941-2018

Mary Jane Proctor, 76, of Gardendale, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018. She was born on July 23, 1941 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral service for Mrs. Proctor will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mid-Cities Community Church in Midland. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Glencrest Cemetery in Big Lake under the direction of American Heritage Funeral Home in Midland.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Jane married William Winifred Proctor on Jan. 7, 1961 and they moved to Snyder in 1962, where they raised seven children and two grandchildren. Mary had a strong faith and loved Jesus. 

She loved children and babies. After being a housewife most of her life, she returned to school for her nursing degree at the age of 50. She worked in the local nursing home and prison. 

Her greatest accomplishment in this life was raising nine children, teaching them to have faith, the power of prayer and to trust God in all they do. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help anyone. 

She loved the outdoors, animals and to go on road trips with her family. She always found the good in others. She loved her husband of 38 years from the day she met him and never stopped. While on this earth you were loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Bud and Mae Underwood, and two brothers, Bobby Privitt and Floyd Underwood.

Survivors include her children, Billy Proctor and his wife, Debbye, of Burnet, Pam Proctor and Doug Proctor and his wife, Julie, all of Snyder, Barbara Fennell and her husband, Keigm, of Gardendale, Linda Proctor of Odessa, Danny Proctor and his wife, Sheryl, of New Braunfels and Luke Proctor and his wife, Rachelle, of Marion; her brothers, Russell Underwood of LaRue, Benny Underwood of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mack Privitt of Nacona; two granddaughters, Christy Carlson of Odessa and Amanda Martin of Colorado City; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Proctor, Jeffery Proctor, Nathan Proctor, Josh Proctor, Justin Proctor, Brayden Proctor and Tanner Proctor. Honorary pallbearers will be Cesar Valadez, Richard Martin and Cody Collier.
