Zurn Jenkins

1951-2022

Mr. Zurn Jenkins, 71, of Snyder passed away on December 31 in Abilene.

Mr. Jenkins was born on December 31, 1951 in Breckenridge to Van and Elizabeth (Norton) Jenkins. Zurn was the president of the local NAACP, owned and operated D and Z record shop and worked as a DJ for KSNY radio station. He retired from Exxon-Mobil after 30 plus years and worked briefly as an electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughters, Zealia Jenkins of Odessa and Shauna Jenkins of Snyder; sons, Tyrone Durst and wife Lekeisha of Temple and Christian Jenkins of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Nathan and Briana Rose, Briana Durst, Terrell and Zorian Henderson and Arlina Durst; and great–grand daughter, Aisley Rose.

No visitation is planned.

A memorial service for Mr. Jenkins will be held on January 7 at 10 a.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Harrison officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Ruben Roy Silva

1968-2023

Ruben Roy Silva, 54, passed away on January 1.

Mr. Silva was born on August 17, 1968 in Snyder to Pete and Angelita (Medrano) Silva. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and was known to be a good man to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brothers, Ted Silva and wife Margaret of Clovis, NM, Pete Silva of Snyder, Felipe Silva of Snyder and Lucio Silva; sisters, Lupe Torres of Rochelle, IL, Beatrice Vera and Robert of Snyder, Frances Silva and significant other Frances of Clovis, NM, Estella DeLeon of Snyder, Angie Silva of Snyder and Janie Silva of Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned.  Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Brandon Emilio Galvan

1978-2022

Brandon Emilio Galvan, 44, passed away on December 31.

Mr. Galvan was born on June 7, 1978 in Tulia to Emilio and Paulina (Gomez) Galvan.  He married Amanda Flores on January 1, 2003, in Snyder. He Loved spending time with his family and pets. He loved hunting, fishing and cooking. He was a hard worker and he loved spoiling his daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Galvan of Snyder; daughters, Caira Galvan and Kensley Galvan of Snyder; parents, Emilio and Paulina Galvan of Lubbock; father and mother in-law Lupe and Mary Flores of Snyder; brothers, Brian Galvan and wife Stacy of Lubbock and Colton Galvan and wife Jasminne of Carrollton; sister, Michelle Thomas and husband Corey of Lubbock; sisters-in-law, Patricia Escobedo and husband Abel of Snyder and April Hernandez and husband Javier “Harvey” of Snyder; brother-in-law, Joshua Flores of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited on January 6 at 7 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be on January 7 at noon at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Galvan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
