Clorette Brown “Granny” Faulkenberry died Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
Graveside service for Mrs. Faulkenberry will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hobbs Cemetery. The service will under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Myrda Ford
1938-2019
Myrda Sue (Wishert) Ford, 80, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Snyder.
A memorial service for Mrs. Ford will be held at 2 p.m. June 29 in the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Katlynn Gutierrez
1998-2019
After an 11-year battle with a rare brain tumor, Katlynn Leigh Gutierrez passed away at the age of 20 on Monday, June 17, 2019 in her Eunice, N.M. home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service for Miss Gutierrez will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Katie was born on June 22, 1998 in Snyder to Kevin and Amy Gutierrez, both 1992 Snyder High School graduates. Katie attended primary school in Snyder, Farmington, Lovington and Eunice, N.M. She attended Snyder Junior High School and her freshman year in Snyder and graduated from Eunice High School in June 2017. She was the Eunice High School varsity mascot in 2016-17.
She loved attending school and serving as her senior class student council secretary as well as secretary of the City of Eunice student advisory council. She loved playing sports, especially softball.
At the age of 11, in 2009, Katie was struck in the head with a ball during a softball game. At that time, doctors discovered a rare brain tumor in the center of the brain — craniopharyngioma, a benign brain tumor. Katie endured 11 brain surgeries to remove the fast growing tumor. After her 11th brain surgery, Katie suffered a massive midbrain stroke. She spent the next 11 months in the hospital battling for her life. In July 2018, Katie was released from the hospital and sent home to Eunice. Her hometown welcomed her home with a parade in her honor.
Katie enjoyed her final months and days at home with her family. She had a sincere love for her family and life. She sought to bless others, always putting herself last. She was always concerned with everyone else and rarely herself. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Linda Kay Gutierrez, and her uncle Andrew Ramirez Jr.
She leaves behind her mother and father, Kevin Lee and Amy Gutierrez of Eunice, N.M.; her sister, Chelsea Meeker of Eunice, N.M.; her brother, Officer Brekan Andrew Gutierrez of Jal, N.M.; her maternal grandparents, David and Sally Botts and Andres and Irma Ramirez, all of Snyder; her paternal grandfather, Rudy Gutierrez of Snyder; her maternal great-grandmother, Manuela “Nellie” Rios of San Angelo; her uncles and aunts, Keith and Biz Tiner of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Justin and Amy Botts Allison of Roosevelt, Brad and Dava Robbins, Manny and Frances Rios, Jesse and Josie Hernandez and Isabel Rios, all of Snyder, Bubba and Lori Botts and Jesse and Anita Rios, all of Hermleigh, Andres and Aurora Rios of Midland, Tommy Rios of Dallas and Rick Rios and Rosie Rios, both of San Angelo; and many cousins, who she was very close with.

Lesa Mayer
1959-2019
Lesa Mayer, 60, of Snyder, died Monday, June 17, 2019 in Lubbock.
Funeral service for Lesa will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Mark Williamson and Darryl Calley officiating. Burial will follow at Jayton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lesa was born on Feb. 13, 1959 in Spur to C.C. and Oleta (Hamilton) York. She married William Darnell in August 2005. Lesa prided herself in her tireless work ethic and being a servant leader. She worked at West Texas State Bank for 36 years, starting as a teller and earned her way up to vice president of operations. Her devotion and joy in life were her daughters and grandson. Lesa selflessly sacrificed her time and energy to make sure they were provided for and happy. She is their never-ending inspiration and the reason they are successful in life. She loved her husband and he was always by her side. There was no one like Lesa and nothing will ever fill the holes in our hearts now that she’s gone. We love and will always miss you, Mawmoo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Phillip York.
Survivors include her husband, William Darnell of Snyder; two daughters, Jenny Hansen of Austin and Kristina Mayer of Lubbock; one grandson, Jesse Hansen of Austin; one sister, Cindy York of Dallas; and three nephews, Kelly White and Justin White, both of Dallas, and John York of Midland.
