Barbara Ella (Jackson) Jones

1926-2020

Barbara Ella (Jackson) Jones, a longtime Scurry County resident, died peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service for Mrs. Jones will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fluvanna Cemetery with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. No visitation is planned.

Barbara was born on Aug. 23, 1926, in Mobile, Ala., to parents Alvah Francis Jackson and Mary Louisa (Muntz) Jackson, the third of five children. She married Wallace H. Jones Jr. of Fluvanna on Oct. 3, 1951, in San Antonio. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Francis Jackson; and two sisters, Ann Jackson and Mary Sheehy.

Survivors include a brother, Alvah Francis "Bunky" Jackson and spouse, Martha, of San Antonio; five sons, Wallace H. Jones Jr. and spouse, Laketa, of Raton, N.M., Jack Jones and spouse, Barbra, of Snyder, Kevin Jones and spouse, Mari Lyn, of Copperas Cove, Paul Jones and spouse, Gina, of Snyder and Glenn Jones of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, Heather Cochran, Brian Fields and wife, Sarah, Debbi Galbraith and husband, Matthew, Holly Bullard and partner, Krys Ward, Ty Jones and wife, Shanna, Sarah Jones, Mary Jones and partner, Yoni Glogower, Lesa Aiken and husband, Brent, Sabrina Jones and partner, Beatrice Sanchez and Hannah Diaz and husband, Robert; 18 great-grandchildren, Ashley Galbraith, Joshua Galbraith, Serenity Galbraith, Peyton Galbraith, Katy Bullard, Riley Bullard, Danielle Ward, Jordyne Ward, Michael Ward, Josh Ward, Reagan Jones, Chloe Jones, Bradley Jones, Makaylee Jones, Makenna Jones, Colson Jones, Elijah Aiken and Oliver Aiken; and two great-great-grandchildren, Emily Galbraith and Colton Stewart.

Sherry Lynn Tiller, 42, died Sunday, June 7th, 2020.

A Celebration of Life Service is planned at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 6:00 pm at A & G Automotive, 300 S. Louisiana Street, Celina, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
