Novella Delcambre

1933-2020

Novella Delcambre, 86, died Monday, May 25, 2020, in Rockport.

A graveside service was held May 30 at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro.

Novella was born on Nov. 13, 1933, in Archer City to Harry Tillman and Maggie Correne Ivy (Tillman). Novella married Carl McAnear on May 24, 2015. She was also a member of Christian Missions Church.

Novella is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Jackie Joe Ivy; and five sisters, Jancie Lee Landry, Janice Marie Oney, Nancy Janell Ivy, Alois Kay Kocks and Cora Mae Woolen.

Survivors include a son, Howard Shifflett and wife, Glenda, of Snyder; three daughters, Linda Cox and husband, Ernest, of Willow, Alaska, Donna Stotts and husband, Chuck, of Rockport and Susan Poncelow and husband, Don, of Firestone, Colo.; a stepson, Wayne McAnear of Jacksboro; a stepdaughter, Carla Swan and husband, Roy, of Jacksboro; eight grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Inez Jones and Faye Fleming.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro.

 

Daryl Rea Shafer

1948-2020

Daryl Rea Shafer, 72, died in Matador on June 3, 2020.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Espuela Cemetery in Spur with Kevin Brendle officiating. Services are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Daryl was born March 19, 1948 to Fred and Dorothy Louise (Rea) Shafer in Roscoe. Daryl was a master leather crafter. He loved being a cowboy, day working and also enjoyed team roping.

Daryl is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Will Shafer and wife, Machell, of Spur and Tim Shafer and wife, Lorre, of Iowa Park; three brothers, Bodie Shafer and wife, Sheila, of Fluvanna, Brent Shafer and wife, Mary Jo, of Ira and Joe Shafer and wife, Bobbie, of Spur; four grandchildren, Rodey Shafer and wife, Alexis, Cody Shafer and wife, Hannah, McKena Shafer and Paden Shafer; one great-grandchild, Kaden Shafer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
