Rumaldo Canales
1933-2019
Rumaldo Canales, 85, of Snyder, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Snyder.
Funeral service for Mr. Canales will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on Sept. 3, 1933  in Del Rio to Feliciano and Dionicia (Gomez) Canales, he married Josefina Garza on Feb. 13, 1954 in Snyder. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Diana Denson and Naomi Pemberton, one son, Felix Canales, and two sisters, Virginia Barboza and Beatriz Ortegon.
Survivors include his wife, Josefina Canales of Snyder; two daughters, Tina Luera and her husband, Joe, of Snyder and Marina Canales of Lubbock; two sons, Salvador Canales and his wife, Irene, of Snyder and Reynaldo Canales and his wife, Linda, of Corpus Christi; one sister, Evangelina Canales of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Elza Grant
1927-2019
Elza Horace Grant, 92, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his residence in Snyder
A memorial service for Mr. Grant will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ira Methodist Church with the Rev. G. Darrell Grant officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Elza was a lifelong resident of Snyder. He was born on Jan. 7, 1927 to Edgar and Exa Pearl (Sorrells) Grant. He was a World War II Navy veteran. His career was in the oil business, where he worked in oil production as a tool pusher and driller. Elza bought a hobby farm when he retired. He lived at the hobby farm until he changed addresses at 10:28 p.m. May 14, 2019. If you want to contact Elza at his new address, just mark you mail General Delivery: Heaven.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Grant and his wife, Elizabeth, of Petersburg and Darrell Grant and his wife, Sandra, of Superior, Wis.; one brother, Dale Grant and his wife, Katherine, of Grandview; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
