Sandra Lieb
1947-2019
Sandra Jean Lieb was born to John and Jennetta Bailey in Carthage, Mo. on June 18, 1947. She passed away on April 30, 2019 in Pearland after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mrs. Lieb will be held at 5 p.m. today at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland. 
Sandra grew up in Snyder and earned her bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University. She was a teacher for 37 years. On May 31, 1968, she married Robert Lieb at 37th Street Church of Christ in Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Bailey.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Robert Lieb, of Pearland; her children, Laurie Quillen of Pearland and Misty Lieb-Bannatyne and her husband, Manuel, of Katy; her mother, Jennetta Bailey of Snyder; one sister, Karen Goebel of Snyder; one brother, Gary Bailey of Midland; four grandchildren, Kortnee Makayla Quillen and Alyssa Katlyn Quillen, both of Pearland, and Macy Jennetta Bannatyne and Molly Angela Bannatyne, both of Katy; and one great-grandson, Ryan Quillen of Pearland.

Wretha Speer
1953-2019
Wretha Louise Speer, 65, died Monday, April 29, 2019 in Loraine.
Funeral service for Mrs. Speer will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Temple in Colorado City with Cory Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Dorn Cemetery in Mitchell County under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Speer was born on Oct. 9, 1953 in Big Spring to Lee and Nellie (Cherry) Matlock. She was a member of the Christian Temple and loved her family, gardening and her dog, Honey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Nellie (Cherry) Matlock, her husband, Joe “Bear” Speer, and two brothers, Audie Matlock and Randy Matlock.
Survivors include two daughters, Leanne Simpson and her husband, James Hartfield, and Stacey Jones and her husband, Brandon, all of Loraine; two sons, Justin Speer and his wife, Vickey Bradley, and Michael “Mikey” DeAx and his wife, Ashley, all of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Erica Simpson and Dezaray Speer, both of Loraine, and Tommy James and his wife, Nanna Silva, Taleya James and Jacoby James, all of Colorado City; two great-grandchildren, Sienna James of Colorado City and Dakota Simpson of Loraine; two sisters, Elaine Dearmond and Becky Sanders, both of Colorado City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
