Tim Hardin

1944-2017

Tim Hardin died Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Lubbock at 72 years of age.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.

Mr. Hardin was born on Oct. 19, 1944, in Stamford. He and his family moved from Stamford to Snyder in 1956, where he graduated from Snyder High School in 1963. He played football and ran track in high school. He attended college in Canyon at Southwestern College and Texas Tech in Lubbock. Tim loved Texas Tech and attended many sporting events at Tech.

Tim owned and operated Hardin Building Supply and later owned and operated Sunset Point Construction, Inc., in Lubbock. He was co-owner with his wife, Cheryl, of a Lubbock sports shop, Court Time Casual.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Ruth (Herd) Hardin; three brothers, Bob Hardin, Jack Hardin and John Hardin; one sister, Nancy Hardin Blair; and his father-in-law and mother- in-law, Frank and Muriel Stark.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl Stark Hardin of Lubbock; two sisters, Cindy Hardin Garcia of Snyder and Maxine Hardin Palmer of Rough and Ready, Calif.; and his sister-in-law, Mary Taylor Hardin of Snyder. Tim is also survived by his nephews, Christopher Hardin and his wife, Christy, of Iraan and Brad Blair and his wife, Angela, of Snyder; and his nieces, Tonya Garcia Zamora and her husband, Albert, of Snyder, Shahala Blair Snowden and her husband, Brian, of Wylie and Stephanie Blair Moriarty of San Angelo; and his great-nieces and nephews, Lauren Zamora, Sidnee Snowden, Jaden Zamora, Garret, Chandler, Brayden Blair and Ian and Connor Moriarty.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially by his wife, Cheryl, and his Yorkie, Mork, and Maltese, Mindy, and their several cats.

Billy Huddleston

1934-2017

Billy Don Huddleston, 82, of Snyder, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Justiceburg.

Funeral service for Mr. Huddleston will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born on June 10, 1934 in Knapp to Andy Ross and Hazel Etoil (Jordan) Huddleston, he married Janette on Jan. 13, 1990, in Snyder. Mr. Huddleston was a lifetime resident of Scurry County. He farmed and ranched all his life. He also was a state director for Texas Farm Bureau for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha Stoker Huddleston, and one brother, John Weldon Huddleston.

Survivors include his wife, Janette Huddleston of Snyder; three daughters, Rebecca Mayfield and her husband, Stan, of Azle, Roxanne Huddleston and her husband, Jack Hileman, of Los Angeles, Calif. and Felicia Stoker of Dallas; two stepsons, Kenny Joplin and his wife, Carolyn, and Michel Bell and his wife, Carla, all of Midland; two stepdaughters, LaChrisha Ray and her husband, Mark, of Midland and Tammy Deavours of Lubbock; one brother, Wayland Ross Huddleston and his wife, Nelda, of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special friend and devoted ranch foreman, Filiberto Gutierrez and his wife, Mary, of Roscoe.

Jerry Stokes

1927-2017

Geraldine “Jerry” Stokes, 90, of Odessa and formerly of Ira, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Odessa.

Funeral service for Mrs. Stokes will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ira Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark McMillan officiating. Burial will follow at Ira Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born on May 6, 1927 in Brownwood to Arch and Ruthie (Day) Shamblin, she married Travis Stokes on Jan. 9, 1947, in Novice. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1996.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Troy Haden Stokes.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Stokes and his wife, Kathy, of Odessa; four grandchildren, Misty Stokes of Vernal, Utah, Callee Stokes of Waxahachie, Chad Brannon of Odessa and Joshua Brannon of Crowley; and three great-grandchildren, Travis Scott of Vernal, Utah and Trustin Clayton and Brennan Clayton, both of Odessa.
