Dean Blankenship
1934-2019
Norma Dean Blankenship, 85, of Snyder, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. 
Funeral service for Mrs. Blankenship will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Kinney Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born on March 28, 1934 in Ackerley to Barney Otis Springfield and Neva Mattie King, she married James “Bill” Blankenship on April 22, 1956 in Ackerley. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2019. Dean was a member of First Baptist Church in Snyder and was the co-owner and office manager of Blankenship Packers. She earned her teaching degree from Texas Tech University in 1970 and taught kindergarten in Ira for many years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Darrell Springfield.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Shurtleff and her husband, Sam, of Lampasas, Lisa Hartzog and her husband, Donny, of Snyder and Pam Palacios and her husband, Antonio, of Pharr; seven grandchildren, James Shurtleff, Robert Allen Shurtleff, Amanda Whitmire and her husband, Adam, Kayla Hartzog and Wyl Wiggins, Nathan Palacios and his wife, Ana, Jason Palacios and his wife, Ali, and Maggi Palacios; and three great-grandchildren.

Anita Payne
1934-2019
Anita Payne, 85, of San Angelo, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 in San Angelo.
Funeral service Mrs. Payne will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hudman Funeral Home Chapel in Post with John Hedrick, of Graham Chapel Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Cemetery. 
Born on Jan. 9, 1934 in Post to L.P. and Ruby (Thomas) Kennedy Sr., she married Floyd Payne on Feb. 2, 1951 in Post. She lived in Snyder for many years and worked for the ASCS.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Payne of San Angelo; two sons, Carl Payne and his wife, Susan, of Big Spring and Clif Payne and his wife, Darla, of Mineral Wells; one sister, Betty Young of San Angelo; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
