Eric was born on Sept. 19, 1978 in Big Spring to his parents, Jim Bob Roberson and Penny Pate Roberson. He married the love of his life, Jackie Beck, on June 24, 2000 at her parents’ home in Snyder. Eric had a true appreciation for living life simply. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had an immense love for livestock, especially cattle and horses. Eric was a true cowboy by heart. He worked on a number of ranches locally and across the state, traveling with a group of cowboys who were far more than co-workers. These men were considered by Eric as friends and often times his family. Eric’s stature and strength and handle with a horse made him a good cowboy. However, his heart made him a good man. Eric was known near and far for having a heart bigger than most, a giving spirt and loving soul. Eric had a special place in his heart for children of all ages, and all kids loved him as well. He was known as Uncle Eric, Big E, I T Coy and Bigun to many of his closest family and friends. However, his most treasured name was Daddy. His children, Carter and Tae, and wife “Jack” were the center of his world, and his priority, above all his life work.
Eric was a stockholder of the Scurry County Rodeo Association and served as a director for more than 15 years.
He will be missed immensely by his fellow cowboys and the ranches they work on, his friends and most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Bob Roberson; his mother-in-law, Denise Beck; his paternal grandparents, I.B. and Charlcie Roberson; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Pate; two uncles, Iky Roberson and Bil West; and a dear friend, Perry Echols.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jackie Roberson of Snyder; their children, Carter and Taeler  Roberson, both of Snyder; his mother, Penny Roberson of Snyder; one sister, Monica Bond and her husband, James, of Snyder; four nephews, Kaden Stone and Cooper, Colee and Shayden Hatley, all of Snyder; his father-in-law, Weldon Beck of Snyder; one sister-in-law, Jamie Hatley and her husband, Corey, of Snyder; his grandfather, Tommy Pate of Snyder; two aunts, Patricia West and Peggy Jordan, both of Snyder; one uncle, Billy Clyde Roberson and his wife, Zalda, of Breckenridge; his cousins, Rebecca Price and her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Conley, all of Granbury, Brenna Roberson of Snyder and Bryant Roberson and his daughter, Alyssa, of New Braunfels; and a countless number of dearly treasured friends.
Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford Street, Abilene, TX 79605-9989.
