Oran Douglas McGlaun 1927-2019 Oran Douglas McGlaun, 92, died surrounded by his family in Fort Worth on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2019. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 at Western Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raul Gutierrez officiating. Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 in Snyder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Services are under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home. Doug was born on June 3, 1927 in Snyder to the late O.D. and Effie McGlaun. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1944 at the age of 16 and attended the University of Texas before enlisting in the Army in 1946. He married the love of his life, Jean Boley, his wife of more than 70 years, on June 30, 1949 in Sweetwater. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Snyder. He owned a Texaco service station and later purchased the Gulf Oil Distributorship before becoming the first manager of the Scurry County Coliseum in Snyder in 1967. He was a volunteer fireman, president of the Jaycees, an active member of the International Association of Auditorium Managers and was involved in many community activities. In 1970 came the opportunity to move his family to Fort Worth, where he became the assistant manager of Will Rogers Memorial Center, a position where he spent many happy and busy hours until he retired in 1993 as assistant director of public events. After retirement he dedicated another 20 years as director of parking for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Effie and O.D.; three brothers, Donald, Loyd (Bud) and Jack; and his sister, Joy. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Fort Worth; two daughters, Sheri Fuller and her husband, Lynn, of Willow Park and Debbie McMahon and her husband, Mike, of Kingwood; two sons, Gerald and his wife, Pam, of Annetta South and Kevin and his wife, Nancy, of Arlington; two granddaughters, Amber Baker and her husband, Mathew, of Houston, and Regan Cohen and her husband, Michael, of Houston; six grandsons, Justin Fuller and his wife, Julie, of Boulder, Chris McMahon and his wife, Keridon, of Houston, Jared Fuller and his wife, Michelle, of Fort Worth, Kent McGlaun and Delia of Fort Worth, Nick McGlaun and his wife, Becca, of Frisco and Jake McGlaun and his fiancée, Jeannette Del Bosque, of Dallas; eight great-granddaughters, Brielle Moreland, Cadence McMahon, Lillian Baker, Teagan McMahon, Juliette Baker, Olivia Fuller, Gwendolyn Cohen and Maren Fuller; and four great-grandsons, Kieran McMahon, Riley Fuller, Easton Cohen and Pierce Douglas McGlaun. Doug made every day a good day. He made a difference in a lot of people’s lives. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was a loving husband, dad, papa and best friend to all who knew him. His perpetual smile and laughter will be missed by us all. The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Terrace Fort Worth who took great care of Doug, and the compassionate care and support of Heart to Heart Hospice during his final hours. Pete Wadleigh 1948-2019 Pete Wadleigh, 71, of Snyder, died on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel, with Bill Brown officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. No visitation is planned. Pete was born on Nov. 7, 1948, in Vallejo, Calif., to Jim and Helen (Nachlinger) Wadleigh. He married Charlotte Boch on Dec. 18, 1980, in Snyder. Pete was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and photography, and was an animal lover. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Lanny Wadleigh and Larry Wadleigh. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Wadleigh, of Snyder; a daughter, Jennifer Campbell and her husband, Clint, of Horseshoe Bay; a son, Stephen Taylor and his wife, Ashley, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a twin sister, Polly Echols and her husband, Jerry, of Snyder; a brother, Tom Wadleigh and his wife, Karen, of Snyder; a sister-in-law, Ethel Wadleigh of North Richland Hills; four grandchildren, Patrick Rodriguez of Snyder, Killian Taylor of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Courtney Shontz and her husband, Jordan, of Washington, D.C., and Carly Triola and her husband, Nick, of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
