Felipe DeLoera
1936-2019
Felipe Neri DeLoera, 83, of Roscoe, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 at his residence. 
Holy mass of Christian burial for Mr. DeLoera will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sweetwater with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow at Loraine Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. 
A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. 
Born on May 26, 1936 in Champion in Nolan County to the late Margarito and Juanita (Sanchez) DeLoera, he lived all of his life in Nolan County. Felipe married Anita Salinas on June 30, 1962 in Colorado City. Felipe was known for his love of music and entertaining his family and friends his entire life. He played many different instruments, but his favorite was the guitar.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. 
Survivors include his wife, Anita DeLoera of Roscoe; five sons, Abel DeLoera and his wife, Sherry, Alberto DeLoera and his wife, Darla, and Felipe Neri DeLoera Jr. and his wife, Shanon, all of Snyder, Adolfo DeLoera and his wife, Delia, of Sweetwater and Armando DeLoera and his wife, Misti, of Roscoe; his grandchildren, Chancey Manwiller and her husband, Jason, Scott DeLoera, Andrea Megan DeLoera, Aaron DeLoera and his wife, Brooke, Angela DeLoera, Devyn Brooke DeLoera, Morgan Kate DeLoera, Kyle DeLoera, Oakley Ryan DeLoera, Lauren Levens, Felipe Neri DeLoera III, Sierra Katelyn DeLoera, Amri DeLoera, Amrin DeLoera and Amrik DeLoera; and five-great grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be Albert DeLoera, Adolfo DeLoera, Aaron DeLoera, Oakley DeLoera, Trey DeLoera and Kyle DeLoera. Honorary pallbearers will be Amrin DeLoera and Amrik DeLoera.

Bette League
1940-2019
Bette June League, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 in San Angelo.
A memorial service for Mrs. League will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Robert Massie Funeral Home Riverside Chapel in San Angelo with the Rev. Scott Bradford, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating.

Edna Merrell
1926-2019
Edna Audrey Lomax Merrell, 91, of Snyder, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 at Good Life Senior Living.
A memorial service for Mrs. Merrell will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Edna was born on June 1, 1928 in Willacoochee, Ga. She attended school in Lomax until eighth grade. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1945. Upon graduating from high school, she worked at the Settles Hotel in Big Spring. Edna married James Merrell on June 10, 1951. They were married for 66 years. Edna graduated from Drones Business College and McMurry University. She was a teacher at various school districts for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Merrell; one son, Eddie Merrell; her parents, Mary and Robert Lomax; three sisters, Vivian Lomax, Ann Harris and Alma Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Roberts.
Left to carry on Edna’s legacy are one daughter, Mary Sweeney and her husband, Jim, of Dubuque, Iowa; two sons, Mark Merrell and his wife, Judy, of Colorado City and Kirk Merrell and his wife, Ciana, of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Mica Roberts and her husband, Clayton, Megan Oliver and her husband, Matt, Sarah Hallum and her husband, Andy, James Merrell and his wife, Jessica, and John Merrell and his wife, Stephanie; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
