Maria Beaver
1915-2019
Maria Beaver, 104, died today, Oct. 2, 2019 in Big Spring. Services are pending with Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

James Davis
1953-2019
James Ernest Davis, 65, of Abilene and formerly of Snyder, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene. 
A memorial service for Mr. Davis will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Ken Spoor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1953 in Snyder to Ernest Wade and Elois Bell (Williams) Davis.
He was preceded in death by a his parents and a sister, Laurel Davis.
He is survived by a sister, Cynthia Darlin and her husband, Charles, of Snyder; a son, James Ernest Davis Jr. of Abilene; a daughter, Dora Davis of Abilene; and two step-children, Mercedes and Levi.

Janice Hollister
1941-2019
Janice Hollister, 78, of Snyder, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 in Abilene. Services are pending at Bell-Cypert Seale Funeral Home.

Mickey Nunley
1938-2019
Mickey Nunley, 80, of Snyder, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019 at Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.  
Funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Hill Baptist Church, with Kinney Robinson officiating.  A private family graveside service will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.  
Visitation will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  
He was born to Gerald and Murle Nunley on Oct. 25, 1938 in Jermyn and was raised in Graham. Mickey and JoAnn Thompson were married on Jan. 4, 1958. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone company and they made their home in Snyder, where he had been very active in civic affairs.
He served as president of the Snyder Jaycees and vice president of the Texas Jaycees in 1968 and 1969, respectively.  
In September 1969, Mickey became manager of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce and in 1976, he resigned to become vice president of the Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Railroad. He was elected president in 1977.
He also served as president of National Railcar & RS&P Railroad, Inc. He sold his interest in these companies and became vice president of Snyder National Bank in June 1982.  
He was also president of the Scurry County Historical Commission, vice president of West Texas Rehabilitation Center, president of Scurry County Boy’s Club (he was named outstanding coach in 1965), vice president of the Snyder High School Quarterback Club and served as Sergeant at Arms for Toastmasters. He was also an active member of Snyder City council and vice president of Snyder Country Club.
During the summers, he was an instructor for Texas A&M Fireman’s Training School. As a volunteer for the Snyder Fire Department he was named fireman of the year in 1966.
Throughout his professional career he was owner and operator of several small businesses around Snyder, including National Fuel and Lubricants, Industrial Hose and Supply, The Plaza Truck Stop and Handi Mart.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Adams of Cloudcroft, N.M. and a brother, Gerry Bob Nunley of Graham.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Nunley of Snyder; a daughter, Rhonda Bratton and her husband, R. Louis, of Austin; and a son, Rollen Nunley of Snyder; five grandchildren, Brooks Nunley and his wife, Karis, of Friendswood, Emma Maynard and her husband, Austin, of San Antonio, Hannah Temple and her husband, Jordan, of Austin, Sarabeth Bratton and her fiancé, Stephen Dellert, of Austin and Lilian Bratton of Austin; four great-grandchildren, Zaylee Nunley, Jaxson Nunley, Maycee Belle Nunley and Hailey Temple; a soon-to-be great-grandson, Major Maynard of San Antonio; and two sisters, Judy Smith and Gaye Steadham, both of Graham.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and hospice at Cogdell Memorial Hospital for their care and support.
