Betty Boyd
1929-2015
Betty Leona Boyd, 86, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 in a Lubbock hospital.
Graveside service for Mrs. Boyd  will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Snyder Cemetery with Levi Sisemore officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born on Sept. 1, 1929 in Scurry County to A.A. & Euna (Graham) Behringer, she married Glendon Bynum on April 19, 1950. He died on Dec. 23, 1972. She married Warren Boyd on Feb. 17, 1978. He died on Oct. 25, 1980. She was a businesswoman, poet and longtime member of 37th Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her brother, Junior Behringer and his wife, Connie, of Ruidoso, N.M.; one son, Harley Bynum and his wife, Judy, of Midland; two grandchildren, Becky Martinez and her husband Alan, of Midland and Jason Bynum and his wife, Julie, of Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Vance and Kailey Martinez and Devin and Kendra Bynum; two nieces, Donna Reed and her husband, Tom, of Waco and Cindy Vannatta, of Crawford; and a dear nephew and his wife, Mike and Reta Graham of Lowell, Ark.
The family wishes to express its deepest thanks and gratitude to the many people in Betty’s life who helped her maintain her independence to the very end.

Bob Lanier
1938-2015
Bobby Hubert “Bob” Lanier was born on Oct. 7, 1938 in Blackwell. He passed away of natural causes on Oct. 5, 2015 at Abilene Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
He graduated from Blackwell High School. He was an accomplished businessperson and had a terrific sense of humor. His career began at USG in Sweetwater and then he moved to Snyder and worked at American Magnesium, Reef Chemical and Panther Industries. He and his wife, Jan, owned and operated Lanier Enterprises. He retired and moved to the Cattle Call Ranch near Blackwell about 10 years ago. He loved his family and he had great friends across the U.S. He was an avid hunter, sports fan and his favorite hobby was collecting arrowheads. His greatest passion was watching his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Cindy Hendley of Abilene; one son, Scott Lanier and his wife, Tyfani, of Knoxville, Tenn.;  five grandchildren, Shay and Chad Sipe and Sloan Hendley, all of Abilene, and Cody and Justin Lanier, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, Hays and Swade Sipe, both of Abilene; two sisters, Rudy Thomas of Maryneal and Patti Lanier of Blackwell; and many  friends and family whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan; two brothers, Dink Lanier and Tommy Lanier;  one sister, Virginia Harris; and his parents, Abe and Emma Lee Lanier.
A celebration of  life service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater with the Rev. Lance May, Bob’s nephew, officiating. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Decker Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Brad Lanier, Harvey Harris, Jeff Harris, Paul Dent, Todd Thomas, Brian May  and Jerry Lanier.

William Self
1927-2015
William Charles Self, 88, a resident of Snyder since 2011 and formerly of Hurst, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 in Snyder.
Graveside service for Mr. Self will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Ed Barkowsky officiating. Robert Crawford will assist. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born on March 22, 1927 in Meadow to Allie Wright and Eula Mae (Pendergrass) Self, he received his bachelor of business administration degree from Texas Tech University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, an accountant for the Borden company and a member of North Richland Hills Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Self and Kenneth Pendergrass; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Self and Joy Pendergrass; and his stepmother, Mossie Lee Self.
Survivors include three sisters, Judy Barkowsky and her husband, Ed, of Snyder, Joyce Alene Crawford and her husband, Robert, of Newton, Kan. and Anna Marjean Holleman of Los Alamos, N.M.; and one brother, Joe Self and his wife, Bonnie, of Albuquerque, N.M.
