Martin Cervantes Diaz, 87, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2019.
Funeral mass for Mr. Diaz will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Arsenio C. Redulla officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on March 29, 1932 in Cotulla to Eugene and Maria (Cervantes) Diaz, he married Francisca Hermosillo on Jan. 25, 1962 in Loraine. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He loved his family, western cowboys, horses and his John Deere tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maria (Cervantes) Diaz; three sisters, Minga Diaz, Eva Diaz and Paula Aguirre; and two great-grandsons, Isaiah Arellano and Raymond Garza.
Survivors include his wife, Francisca Diaz of Snyder; one son, Gene Diaz and his wife, Felipa of Houston; five daughters, Sally Sanchez and Lisa Rodriguez, both of Snyder, Norma DeLaO and Lucy Garza, both of Sweetwater, and Mary Olvera and her husband, Edrick, of Garland; his favorite grandson, Eric Arellano and his wife, Marina, of Snyder; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Abraham Diaz and his wife, Margie, of Corpus Christi; and four sisters, Manuela Martinez, Chepa Martinez and Julia Diaz, all of Beeville, and Francisca Munoz and her husband, Ernesto, of San Antonio.

Hulen Malone, 89, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 at Snyder Oaks Care Center.
